Why your ISNetworld grade dropped, and the fastest way back

A falling grade almost always means a document went stale, not that your safety got worse. The portal grades paperwork, and paperwork expires on a schedule nobody put on your calendar.

The usual suspects, in order of likelihood

  1. An insurance certificate expired. Your policy renewed, your agent has the new certificate, and the portal is still holding the old one. This is the single most common cause and the fastest fix: get the current COI uploaded, correctly formatted, today.
  2. An annual item came due. OSHA summary data and EMR letters are yearly obligations. If it's past the window and the portal shows a gap, that's your drop.
  3. A hiring client changed requirements. When a client you're connected to updates their questionnaire or adds a program requirement, unanswered items count against you even though nothing on your side changed.
  4. A written program aged out. Programs are revalidated on multi-year cycles. The cycle date passes silently.

The fastest way back

  1. Open the portal's action items and sort by hiring client. Fix items tied to clients you actively bid for first; that's where revenue lives.
  2. Handle certificates before narratives. Uploads clear fast; program rewrites take days.
  3. When you upload, match the portal's format requirements exactly. Rejected re-uploads burn a week each.
  4. Then build the calendar so it doesn't happen again: every policy renewal date, every annual filing window, every revalidation cycle.

The pattern worth noticing: none of this is safety work. It's deadline work, and it's exactly the kind of thing you can hand to someone whose whole job is watching the calendar.
